Book of Morton Stories, Sep. 2012:

Hi everybody!

This month has flown by and I can't think of much that has been especially noteworthy, although I have been released from YW and am now the Primary Chorister.  I'm excited for this, but would love any ideas you could share!  Seriously!  I've also been getting settled into the routine of more piano after school, and have added some more new students, which has been good since a few moved or dropped over the summer, but it is always a little stressful to start new students and try to figure the best things for them--but it's a good challenge.  I'm working on getting my dinnertime more organized, so if anyone has any favorite crockpot recipes or other simple weeknight favorites, send them my way!

Kids are good--loving school, hanging with friends, losing teeth, riding bikes, etc.  I took John to a Japanese hibachi grill place the other night with his class as a special thing to go along with their Japan unit.  That was fun, and he loved the shrimp and steak, but his favorite thing was the noodles.  I remember that always being my fav as a kid, too--SO much better than the fried rice!  Neither of us caught the pieces of zucchini the guy (whose name was Jim--funny, right?) was tossing at us--guess we'll have to work on that at home!

Baby is getting so big it's already hard to call him baby!  Sad, but he is at a very fun age.  He is loving watching planes fly overhead and has been bit by the "Car" bug, just like John.  He even drives them around and makes car noises (think blowing raspberries--and drools like crazy when he does it!).  His best words are Sara, go, go, Dada, and Mum, and for John it's more like Don!  He is a doll.

Jared is good--his latest project was converting our lawn mower bag into a bag to collect the leaf bits as the leaf blower vaccuums and mulches them--mere words don't do his invention justice.  I'll have to post a picture--it's very cool!  He is a master of making things more streamlined!  Oh, and he fixed our van trunk door with his own invention as well, and I LOVE having access to that now (it was broken even when we bought it, and evidentally a typical problem for this model).  Love that handy man!  He also got the maximum raise his boss could allow (as always) and totally aced his yearly review.  He works so hard!

Well, I've got to run and see if I can get some things crossed off my list for the day!  Much love to you all!
